Welsh Highland Railway - 12 August 2013

A big entry for a big day, the long awaited ride on the completed Welsh Highland Railway.

I had followed the reconstruction closely through the internet, and although much of the line seemed familiar as a result, I was not fully prepared for the drama of the section between Betws Garmon and Beddgelert.

I had booked the Pullman observation car (seat No.1) on a return trip from Caernarfon. The following photos are from the outward journey.

On the return journey, the locomotive was at 'my end'.

Following the trip, there was time to do a little motorcading.
