Perrygrove - 27 August 2013

Today I visited Alan Keef Ltd - more of that following their Open Day - and Patrick Keef very kindly took me to the nearby Perrygrove Railway, a 1ft 3in gauge line that is the creation of the Crofts family and now a popular attraction in the Royal Forest of Dean. We were treated like royalty and had an enjoyable time. There are steep grades and the locomotive has to work hard.

JUBILEE, a 1994 Hunslet (of Jenbach design)
URSULA - a recreated Heywood 0-6-0T

BLAKOVESLEY, reputedly the first steam outline combustion locomotive
ever built (in 1910) but the Tarrant loco for Melbourne Zoo
predates it by 6 years.
